Fake news spreads through social networks and chat based apps. No easy way to verify whether news is genuine or not. Fact checking is not incentivized. News blockchain incentivizes fact checking and quality. It helps to build a curative reputation. It allows credit to be given to original sources. News Blockchain allows users to post news articles. Other users can either upvote or downvote the news. Users can share facts related to the news. Other users can either upvote or downvote the facts. If news gets more upvotes than downvotes, then it could be genuine. Later a prediction market can be created for news (incentivizing genuine news through staking). It can also be used as a chrome extension. Metamask extension is required to test the app. Change the network to “Rinkeby Test Network” using metamask for the app to work.
Adoption: Shared the app with a few users to get the feedback. Users were curious about how this app worked and gave suggestions regarding how this app can be improved further. Based on their feedback, I have decided to add more features to make the app more robust. Users feel that fake news is a huge problem that should be solved.
